The Money is in the List! – Wrong!

Category : List Building

I know you’ve been told this countless times… The money is in the list!

Is that really true? Or is your list nothing more than a bunch of names?

I’m going to venture out on a limb and tell you that the Money is NOT in the list….

The money is in the RELATIONSHIPS you build with the people on your list!

You see, I can show you how to build your list easily.

I can show you how to brand yourself so that people are attracted to you and WANT to be on you list.

BUT, if you don’t build relationships with the people on your list, you might as well be pulling names from the phone book…

It’s useless!!

Last Saturday, January 7th, my Good Friend and Personal Mentor Michael Dlouhy was interviewed on a Special Conference Call.

On this packed call Michael taught THE MOST IMPORTANT skill in building relationships with people!

If you don’t learn this SKILL, your Business is dead in the water, and your list is GARBAGE.

I don’t normally do this with the special calls we have, but this was such a good call I decided I’d share the recording with you so you can benefit from learning this skill just as I have.

Listen to the audio training here:

7 Steps To Achieving Your Goals

Category : Goals

How important is goal setting?

You can’t hit a target you can’t see… or arrive at the right place when you don’t know where you’re going.

Your goals determine how successful, or unsuccessful, you will be in life.

In fact, through my research I’ve found that all top business people and self-made millionaires have very detailed goals-while those stuck barely scraping by have vague dreams or wishes.

The problem is, most people set goals – which they never achieve.

Why? What is the difference between people who set goals and reach them, and the people who set goals and never come close?

I see a few differences:

  1. You’ve got to have a really big dream, one that totally captures your imagination, that truly inspires you.

  2. Choose a model, someone who has done what you want to do. Study every aspect of that person, their skills, their resources, and what they have achieved, so you understand what it takes.

  3. Write down every detail of that dream, no matter how trivial it may seem. The more detail you can picture in your mind, the closer you get to your dream becoming reality.

  4. Spend time each day picturing your exact dream. After you have built your dream picture, it doesn’t take but 3-5 minutes a day to focus completely on it. That action will drive you to your dream’s achievement.

  5. Focus every action in your day on making some part of your dream a reality.

  6. Wherever fear or doubt enter the picture, step right into them. Do whatever it is you fear, over and over, so it no longer looms as a stop on your dream.

  7. Never ever ever quit.

I have personally found these steps to be very effective.

Here is a program that I’ve gone through that has helped me tremendously. I highly recommend it. It’s called The Science of Self-Confidence – How to Build Rock Solid Self-Confidence and Achieve All of Your Goals, by Brian Tracy.

Think of all the things you could do if you enjoyed super levels of self-confidence… your career would be booming, offers would be flying your way, everyone would want to be with you. You would have more opportunities to find that “special someone.” By using the ideas in The Science of Self-Confidence, everything becomes possible. Your belief in your ability to succeed in all areas of life becomes unshakable. Your life will never be the same, once you learn to practice The Science of Self-Confidence.

Brian Tracy has studied, researched, written and spoken for 30 years in the fields of economics, history, business, philosophy and psychology. He is the top selling author of over 45 books that have been translated into dozens of languages. He’ll help you as he’s helped me.

WARNING! Avoid These 5 Network Marketing Pitfalls

Category : Network Marketing Pitfalls

Network Marketing Pitfall #5 – Unmanaged Expectations

When people get into Network Marketing, they usually do it to follow a dream. A dream of one day owning their own lives. A majority of them have unrealistic expectations. They want to start making tons of money right away and want to retire in 3 months. There are a couple reasons for this thinking. The first being the unrealistic promises from the people they join with. A lot of sponsors use enticements to get people to join their deal, and since people have that dream, they buy into it easily. Another reason is lack of experience. A lot of people just don’t know how long it takes to realistically make the kind of money that is needed to retire comfortably.

Expectations need to be managed up front, and it’s the sponsor or mentor’s obligation to make sure that the new person realizes what exactly it’s going to take to make their dream come true. I love the way Randy Gage puts the time expectations on working a Network Marketing business. He says that it’s a 2 to 4 year plan. And if anyone asks if it’s some “Get Rich Quick” Scheme, he says “Yes!” Because any opportunity to get rich with a 2 to 4 year plan instead of a 45 year plan is a “Get Rich Quick” Scheme to him.

So please realize that you’re not going to get rich overnight in Network Marketing. It takes time and effort. Building relationships with people takes time. Building a team of enough people to leverage everyone’s efforts takes time. But it sure is worth it, to own your life.

Network Marketing Pitfall #4 – Overspending

I’ve seen this one countless times, and have even been a victim of it myself. We end up spending way too much on things that don’t really get us closer to our goal. Again, this is where a good sponsor or mentor come in. They can advise you on what to spend your money on that will bring the highest return on investment. Now don’t get me wrong here. There is an expected cost to running your own business, but is that latest and greatest blog theme really a needed expense when there are thousands of free ones out there? Same with advertising. Should you spend hundreds or thousands on an ad campaign when there are effective low-cost to free advertising avenues available?

My opinion is to work as close to a shoe-string budget as you can while you’re learning how to do all this cool stuff, then as you start to actually make money in the business do you increase your spending.

Network Marketing Pitfall #3 – Being Busy, Not Productive

It’s a very easy thing to do. You want to be busy, so you rush around and do a million things, but only a handful of those things actually are productive. If you follow the 80/20 rule, you will find that 20% of the things you do, actually yield 80% production. On the flip side, 80% of the things you do only yields 20% of your productivity. So you should focus on the 20% that is productive and let the other 80% of your effort get directed toward something that actually produces results.

Network Marketing Pitfall #2 – Lack of Focus

This goes hand and hand with Network Marketing Pitfall #3. Without focus we end up doing a lot of unnecessary things and not getting a whole lot done. Being focused is a very important quality to learn. Start off with doing one thing and seeing it to completion. Don’t let little distractions interrupt you. Shut down the email, turn off the phone, turn off the TV. Learn to concentrate.

And the #1 Network Marketing Pitfall – Not Learning the Skills of What to Say and What to Do

This pretty much ties into all the other Network Marketing Pitfalls. We spend our time on all the other things in our business and fail to learn the basics of what to say to people. Remember, you can have the coolest website, most awesome capture page, a brilliant way to generate leads, the world’s best autoresponder and the greatest marketing campain ever known to man, but eventually you’re going to have to talk to people. You’re going to have to build a relationship with them. You’re going to have to mentor them. Unless you learn the skills of communication and the skills of what to teach them, they’re not going to join you, and if they do, they won’t stick around for long.

So learn the skills. Ask your Sponsor or Mentor to show you what to say and do. If they can’t really help you, check out FortuneNow.com. It’s run by a guy named Tom “Big Al” Schreiter. He’s a legend in Network Marketing and will show you exactly what to say and do to get people to want to hear what you have to say.

Skills and Sales – Teachings From Jim Rohn

Category : Sales, Skills

Skills & Sales

Don’t wish it was easier; wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems; wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges; wish for more wisdom.

You must either modify your dreams or magnify your skills.

You can cut down a tree with a hammer, but it takes about 30 days. If you trade the hammer for an ax, you can cut it down in about 30 minutes. The difference between 30 days and 30 minutes is skill.

The key to life is to become skillful enough to be able to do rewarding things.

Learn to hide your need and show your skill.

To succeed in sales, simply talk to lots of people every day. And here’s what’s exciting – there are lots of people!

Practice is just as valuable as a sale. The sale will make you a living; the skill will make you a fortune.

Selling is a person-to-person business. You cannot send the sales manual out to make the sale. Sales manuals have no legs and no voice.

In the sales profession the real work begins after the sale is made.

Sales people should take lessons from their kids. What does the word “no” mean to a child? Almost nothing.

Even if you are new in sales, you can make up in numbers what you lack in skills.
