Are You Building a Business, Church Group or Political Party?

Are you building a business, a church group or political party?

I really love election season!

It gives me a chance to pare down my friends list on Facebook. It’s the time of year when all the complainers, whiners and bigots come out of their cave and post crap that only they care about.

Wait, let me rephrase that, they post crap that only they care about. –Darn, there’s no better way to put it!

The same goes for the religious zealots out there that do nothing more than preach and spew hatred for anything they view as a sin or hatred for anyone with different views than them.

What I find really funny is that most of these people are Network Marketers, Internet Marketers and other business builders, yet they don’t have a clue as to why they’re not getting anywhere in their business. They wonder why nobody joins them… Hmmmmm…

I had a talk with one lady who is very politically active, but to a point of posting very controversial things about the “other” political party, and I advised her that she might want to keep it generic since she is building a business after all, and alienating people might not be the best way to do that.

She informed me that it’s basically her way of “Pre-Sorting” prospects.

Wow! I guess that’s one way to do it.

Look, I don’t begrudge you your religion, your politics, your sexual preference, your foreign vs. domestic car choices or whether you shop at Walmart or Target… That’s your choice and your opinion. But it might not be the opinion of the next big Network Marketer out there looking to join a team.

My Mentor Michael Dlouhy, who has become a very good friend has taught me that in order to have more, we have to become more. We have to become the people that others want to do business with.

How can we do that if we criticize, belittle, judge and spew hatred all over the place? Even people who agree with your opinion, will think twice about joining you, because in the back of their minds they’ll be thinking, “wow, I better not do anything that they don’t like or I’m toast!”

And another thing to point out is if you’re just looking for people that think and behave the same way you do, how are you or them ever going to grow? How are you ever going to attract open-minded people into your organization? It will be just one big bitch session whenever you get together. Your business will never grow either.

Another thing that Michael has taught me is that don’t sponsor anyone into your business that you wouldn’t want to go on a 30 day cruise with. Good point. And some will argue that that is what they are doing by finding people to agree politically, or religiously, or whatever. But again I ask, are you building a business, or are you building a Church Group, or Political Party?

Something that I’ve also noticed about these people that I’m talking about is that they are the same people that are not very successful in building their business. It’s not growing fast enough, or their not at a level they think they should be.

I have to wonder is it really a mystery to them?

Michael Dlouhy developed a program called the 30 Day Mental Cleanse, and in this program we study the book Think and Grow Rich. Basically, the mastermind group is there to help us overcome the issues that hold us back in becoming better people. Part of the philosophy taught by Michael and the group is Love, Tolerance, Forgiveness and Acceptance of both ourselves and others.

I think that’s a very good place to start.

So I’m curious to hear your opinion on this topic (Generically of course). Leave a comment or send me an email with your thoughts.

Love to all, and may your successes come swiftly and more abundantly that you ever imagined!

Visalus Distributors – A Word of Caution!

Category : Company Review, Network Marketing, Policies and Procedures

Interesting news development today. Blyth, Inc., a publicly traded company has just completed the 3rd of 4 phases in the acquisition of Visalus.

Here’s the news article talking about the acquisition: PR Newswire.

So this brings up some interesting questions for the Distributors. And just to be clear, this is not an article to bash Visalus, it’s owners, nor Blyth, Inc. It’s just to point out some observations I’ve had and ask some questions that came to my mind.

As you know, with a publicly traded company, the shareholders call the shots. When times get lean (and they will for Visalus, no company is immune to that), who is going to get paid first? The Shareholders or the Distributors? You got it, the Shareholders. And where will that money come from? The checks of the Distributors!

One of the paragraphs from the article that I found very telling was this one:

All three company co-founders, Ryan Blair, Chief Executive Officer; Blake Mallen, Chief Marketing Officer; and Nick Sarnicola, top sales leader, have agreed to stay on with ViSalus in their current roles. The founders personally invested $14.6 million from the proceeds of the acquisition in restricted stock of parent company Blyth, Inc., making them the largest inside shareholders after the Goergen family.

Now that Ryan Blair, Blake Mallen and Nick Sarnicola are shareholders of Blyth, Inc. (and I might add, the 2nd largest shareholders), who do they answer to? Where do their best interests lie?

Don’t get me wrong here, in my opinion I think that Ryan, Blake and Nick are brilliant, upstanding guys, but I think the stakes have changed for Visalus. To me it appears that those three are not the final decision makers any longer and can no longer can put the distributors first in any financial decisions.

That brings me to another point that I’m concerned about. Visalus has had tremendous growth the last year. That growth is both a blessing and a potential caution for the distributors. What happens when Visalus becomes a household name? Will Visalus need the distributors any longer? It’s happened before… A company with a word-of-mouth distributor based business model gets big enough that they don’t need the distributors any longer and convert to a retail sales business model.

Now, I know you are probably saying that they wouldn’t do that or even that they can’t do that. Unfortunately, they can. You should take a look at the Policies and Procedures of Visalus, which is the binding agreement between the Distributors and the company. It’s all spelled out there in black and white what they can do.

If you’re a Distributor with Visalus and need help going through your policies, I can certainly help you with that. You should know what you’ve signed and how it binds you to the agreement.

Last but certainly not least, in the Policies and Procedures of Visalus, Distributors are forbid to be in any other Network Marketing company. Here’s the clause:

24. During the term of this agreement (and any renewals) I will not participate in any other network marketing companies. In addition, during the terms of the Agreement and for (1) one year thereafter, I will not solicit or recruit, ViSalus employees or Promoters, whether active or inactive, to participate in any network marketing program. I acknowledge that my violation of this provision will result in immediate termination of my Promotorship and payments of any kind.

What’s interesting about this in my mind, is that Blyth, Inc. with the acquisition of Visalus, now owns 2 Network Marketing companies. Visalus and PartyLite, a direct seller of candles, fragrance accessories and home ambiance products. So that sounds like what’s good for the Goose is not good for the Gander. It’s all about Integrity folks.

Again, please don’t get me wrong. I think Visalus is a great company and boy do they know how to market. I’m just concerned about some things I’m seeing. And just to be clear here, this article is just MY personal opinion and questions I would ask if I were in Visalus or considering joining them as a Distributor.

Something that my personal Mentor Michael Dlouhy has taught me is to learn HOW to think, not WHAT to think. He taught me to become a critical thinker. Personally, I wouldn’t want to build something for a few years only to see it taken out from under me. I’d hate to have to start all over. Something to think about.

With that said, I hope you have a blessed day and find success wherever you seek it!

Take care,

The Money is in the List! – Wrong!

Category : List Building

I know you’ve been told this countless times… The money is in the list!

Is that really true? Or is your list nothing more than a bunch of names?

I’m going to venture out on a limb and tell you that the Money is NOT in the list….

The money is in the RELATIONSHIPS you build with the people on your list!

You see, I can show you how to build your list easily.

I can show you how to brand yourself so that people are attracted to you and WANT to be on you list.

BUT, if you don’t build relationships with the people on your list, you might as well be pulling names from the phone book…

It’s useless!!

Last Saturday, January 7th, my Good Friend and Personal Mentor Michael Dlouhy was interviewed on a Special Conference Call.

On this packed call Michael taught THE MOST IMPORTANT skill in building relationships with people!

If you don’t learn this SKILL, your Business is dead in the water, and your list is GARBAGE.

I don’t normally do this with the special calls we have, but this was such a good call I decided I’d share the recording with you so you can benefit from learning this skill just as I have.

What To Say To The Product-Driven Prospect

Category : Prospecting

I was talking to Michael Dlouhy the other day, and asked him how he handles people who only want to be in company with the greatest product since sliced bread.

Here’s his answer:

If you’ve been in network marketing very long, you’ve run into plenty of prospects who are totally focused on ONLY joining a company where they can sell a product they love.

I tell them, “Look. We have 30 products. You don’t have to use them all. You don’t even have to like them all. Matter of fact, we have a Woman’s Formula that helps balance out the hormones. Guess what? I don’t use the product. I don’t use that one. My wife does. She loves it. We’ve got hundreds of women who buy that product. They love it. I don’t have to use it.”

And That Makes Them Realize How Stupid It Is -

- that they have to love the product. Right there. And if it’s a woman – guess what?¬ Our company¬ has a Men’s Formula! It’s for the prostate.

And last time you checked, you didn’t have a prostate, because you’re a girl. But guess what? I’ve got a lot of guys that buy that product.

Another one I’ll talk about is our product that helps balance blood-sugar. I ask them, “Do you know anyone who has hypoglycemia, diabetes, low blood sugar, a sugar problem?”

“Yeah.”

“Great. Do you think that person would like to know about a product that’s all-natural, it’s been proven to help re-build the pancreas, and¬ will help them to use less insulin, and maybe even get them off of insulin?”

“Oh, yeah!”

You Don’t Have To Have Diabetes To Sell the Product, Do You?

Make it so ridiculous, they get it. I’m telling you, this is magic. People will come to you and they’re totally focused on finding a product that THEY love.

But that is NOT the way to build a long-term, successful, profitable business. When I hear that, I’ll tell them, “Well, then, go get diabetes. Go get diabetes, and this stuff will help you fix it. OK?

And of course, they laugh. It’s a ridiculous solution. But it makes them realize that the attitude that they MUST love the product is also ridiculous.

To get them into your company, tell them why YOU joined. Why did you join this company, this team, this sponsor.

I did a call the other day with a lady who is married to a heart surgeon. If I told you what they have to pay in insurance for him to stay in that business, it would blow your mind. Basically, he’s working for the insurance company.

So they need another income. They have to get something going. The first thing she said was, “Well, I’ll have to try the products first to see if I like them.”

And I went right into the Women’s Formula. I went right into diabetes. And I asked her,

“Do you have diabetes?”

She said, “No.”

I told her, “Well, you don’t have to go and get diabetes to sell a bunch of this product.”

And she got it. She joined on the spot. She figured she’d just try the product but instead, she got the idea. Now she’s in the business.

Do I ask people to join? Do I push them? Do I twist their arm? Do I say, “Get in now and you’ll be rich by Tuesday?”

No. I present the case for my company & our team. The prospect makes their own decision. Mostly, they ASK if they can join. It comes from THEM. How could anything be more powerful?

Sometimes you just have to make them beg.

What Does it Mean to Be a Mentor?

Category : Leaders, Mentoring, Mentoring For Free

Recently I hosted one of the regularly scheduled conference calls for Mentoring For Free called the Leadership Skills Call. On the call I talked about what it means to be a Mentor. Here’s what I said:

When I first started MFF I resisted calling myself a Mentor. I didn’t believe I was one. I myself never really had one in my life. I never had anyone take me under their wing and guide me. So this whole experience was new to me.

When I first started the system, I was concerned with only MY success, what’s in it for me? I wasn’t really concerned about helping others because up until that point, it was all about me. So it wasn’t any wonder that things got off to a slow start. Not many downloads, and those that did download, didn’t get my full attention. If I thought there was any chance they wouldn’t join me in my business, I’d let them go. No more follow-ups, or phone calls. Heck, I even deleted people out of my back office. Especially if they never answered the phone. If they didn’t have time for me, I didn’t have time for them. Talk about an EGO!!

Well, naturally, I started to think that the system didn’t work. And you know, you hear Michael talk all the time about how to have more you have to become more. You have to be the person people want to be in business with. So in order to do that, there are some things you have to work on within yourself. It wasn’t until I really began to understand that, and start to work on that, that things got better.

So I came up with a few short items that I think are essential in being a good mentor.

But before I begin that part, I want to clarify that we always say that being a good mentor is being a good pointer. Showing people where to go to get information or learn a skill, and that’s the basis of it, but there’s more. There’s building that relationship with someone. And that has to go beyond just pointing. Pointing will get you started, but building that Know – Like and Trust is the golden key. And to do that, you need to work on some key points within yourself.

  1. Insecurity – Insecure people make themselves look better at other people’s expense. Insecure people can only feel important when they belittle others to make themselves feel bigger. My father was a perfect example of this. He used to put me down all the time. I loved playing basketball, but my dad hated the sport, so nothing I ever achieved was good enough. I would get written up in the paper or get voted most valuable player in some tournament, and he would say stuff like, I bet the other team were girls, or handicapped or something like that. He would say if I was a real boy I’d play a man’s game like football. Nothing I achieved was important to him. Same thing with grades. To some parents, a high grade like an A would be reasons of joy, but not to him. He was jealous of any success I had, and high grades were cause for ridicule. He’s say, “You think you’re smart cause you got an A? Live in the real world awhile and you’ll realize how dumb you really are. Insecurity was rampant in my household when I was growing up, so naturally, I became very insecure myself. I found myself doing the same thing. Putting people down so I would feel better. I always found fault in others. I always judged. Not the basis for building a good relationship. NOW on the other hand, a successful, secure person will raise people up! They’re not threatened by the thought of others becoming more successful or reaching a higher level than they do. That is probably one of the most important things I’ve learned through this process.
  2. Ego – This one is big. You can’t lift people higher than you if you have to be the center of attention. If you think that others are only here to serve you, you’re definitely going to have a hard time building a relationship with people. Ego driven people are so consumed with themselves that they never even consider spending time lifting others up. So here’s a silly thing that I used to do… I would only call women who downloaded my eBook. Why? Because for some reason, I felt superior to women. What a joke! That was definitely something I had to work on. I’m so ashamed to admit that, but it’s the truth, and it needed to be dealt with. Funny thing is, once I made that shift and let go of the EGO, I found that it’s the women on my team that are kicking butt and doing better than me. And now I’m ok with that.
  3. Potential – It’s hard enough for people to see their own potential, let alone the potential of others. But it’s key that you find yours. Once you do that, you can then see it in others and help them reach theirs. But that takes commitment, diligence, and a genuine desire to focus on others. You have to look at the person’s gifts, temperament, passions, successes, joys and opportunities. And once you find that seed of potential, you need to fertilize it with encouragement and water it opportunity. If you do that, the person will blossom and grow before your eyes. Now do you see why you have to get rid of the insecurities and Ego before this step? Being burdened with those things will never let you see the other person for who they truly are.
  4. Lastly, I think a lot of people have the wrong concept of success. True success is knowing your purpose, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing those seeds to benefit others. It’s not the amount of money you make, or the level you reach in your organization. The average person is scrambling to arrive at a destination or acquire more possessions than their next-door neighbor, only to find that when they get there, they’re unfulfilled. Unless we’re out there helping others, our success is shallow. – I read a great quote the other day by a guy named Cullen Hightower. He said, “A true measure of your worth includes all the benefits others have gained from your success.

So, now that we know what to work on, what do we need to do to start being a good mentor?

Well, like I said earlier, raising people to a higher level and helping them be successful involves more than just giving them information or teaching them skills. If that were the case, everyone who downloads the eBook would be a success as soon as they understood the system.

But success doesn’t automatically follow knowledge. Remember, we’re dealing with PEOPLE here, so we need to understand some basic concepts about what makes people tick.

That’s why we stress learning the personality colors. They’re the key that opens the main door into how a person behaves. Understanding those things will help you also realize that not everyone is like you. They’re not motivated by what you’re motivated by. They don’t react like you do, they don’t see things like you do. So learning the personality colors will go a long way in figuring out how to help someone.

Another couple concepts to keep in mind is that,

  1. Everyone wants to feel worthwhile. – Develop your skill in making other people feel important. There’s hardly a higher complement you pay an individual than helping them be useful. When a person doesn’t feel good about themselves, they will never believe they are successful, no matter what they accomplish. But a person who feels worthwhile is full of success.
  2. Everyone responds to encouragement – If you want to raise another person up, then you need to become one of their biggest supporters. People can tell when you don’t believe in them. Here’s another quote for you. Charles Schwab said, “I have yet to find the man however exalted his station, who did not do better work and put forth greater effort under a spirit of approval than under a spirit of criticism”
  3. People are naturally motivated. – think about a toddler soon after they learn how to walk. They’re into everything! They have a natural curiosity and you can’t get them to sit still. I believe we all have that still, it’s just been beaten down by the lack of support, busyness, stress, bad attitudes and lack of appreciation. You need to get people remotivated and excited about growing to their potential.
  4. People buy into you the person, before they buy into your leadership. – People won’t follow you just because your cause is good. That’s not the way leadership works. People will follow you only when they believe in you. That’s why it’s critical to devote yourself to raising other people up to a higher level. If people see you doing that, they’re more likely to believe that it’s them that you’re more interested in than yourself.

One book I highly recommend you read, but not just read, but study, is How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie. That book is invaluable in helping you understand people. Because understanding people, and understanding yourself will help you have a better chance of success in mentoring than anything else.

Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 4) Affiliate Money

Category : Marketing, Mentoring For Free

Over the past couple days I’ve given you a little insight into some of the reasons I use Mentoring For Free. If you haven’t read the those articles, I suggest you read them so you’ll have a better grasp of today’s article. You can read them here:
Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 1).
Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 2).
Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 3).

The other day I was asked by a friend why I do Mentoring For Free. His biggest question was why help people who might never join my Network Marketing Team. Isn’t sponsoring people in your business the point of being in Network Marketing? Why not do one of those other systems where even if they don’t join your team, they join the “system” as an affiliate and you still make money.

Today, I would like to talk about Affiliate Marketing Systems and why it’s not a good idea to make money off people joining under you in these systems. It’s yet another important reason I use Mentoring For Free that most people don’t know about.

Affiliate Marketing Programs like My Lead Systems Pro (MLSP) for example, are popular programs on the market now, because you can earn money for every person who you bring in to use the system also. Now I’m not bashing MLSP in any way. It’s a great system. They have lots of tools and they teach you to how to brand yourself, which is valuable in this industry. Unlike Mentoring For Free though, the training you get is not free. You can’t get the training without paying for the system. That’s all well and good, but I prefer the free method.

With these types of Affiliate Marketing Systems, you’re making money even if people don’t join your primary company. On the surface that sounds like a great idea, but in addition to the point I made yesterday about competition, you have to be careful. After reviewing the Policies and Procedures of literally hundreds of companies, we’ve found that a majority of them have clauses that you are not allowed to make any additional money with any other system, MLM, Affiliate or otherwise.

That’s a big gotcha!! And since the Policies and Procedures are the contract between you and your company, your company has the right to terminate you if you violate the terms of the contract! Might not be a big deal if you’re only making $100 a month, but it becomes potentially devastating if you’re making $10,000 or more! And honestly, your company isn’t going to be watching you very closely if you’re making $100, but all eyes will be on you if you’re at the $10,000 level.

So my question is, why would you want to jeopardize your income from your Network Marketing company in order to make a few bucks in the affiliate program? And an even better question is, why would you want to potentially get someone you bring into the system terminated by their company? Kinda goes against the whole point of helping someone out doesn’t it?

So my biggest advice to you would be before you join one of these Affiliate Marketing Programs, or even an additional Network Marketing Company, read your policies and procedures. We’ll go into other reasons reading your P&Ps are critical to your success in another post, but for now, take a look at them anyway. Always good to know what contracts you’ve agreed to.

Or, you could always just let me help you in Mentoring For Free and save yourself the frustration. Oh, another point I’d like to make to you about this is that, it’s hard enough to build your Network Marketing Company, why spend the time and effort promoting 2 things? Seems like a waste of time to me.

In tomorrow’s post, I want to show you what the Mentoring For Free 30 Day Mental Cleanse is all about. It’s a Personal Development Program that frankly has changed my life. It’s changing countless others lives too. Participating in this program could take your life and business to the next level! Michael Dlouhy always says, “To have more, you need to become more! You have to become the person people want to be in business with!” The 30 Day Mental Cleanse can help you be that person. That’s worth coming back tomorrow to find out more about it!

In the meantime, let me show you even more about what this system has to offer. Personally I’m using it to build one of the fastest growing teams in my Network Marketing Company. Wouldn’t it be nice if you were doing the same? The first step is to download our Free eBook Success in 10 Steps. From that point I’ll take you by the hand and show you how your lack of success so far in this industry is not your fault and how you can turn that all around.

Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 3) Community

Category : Community, Mentoring For Free

Over the past couple days I’ve given you a little insight into some of the reasons I use Mentoring For Free. If you haven’t read the those articles, I suggest you read them so you’ll have a better grasp of today’s article. You can read them here:
Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 1).
Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 2).

Today, I would like to talk about Community and how Mentoring For Free can help bring your team together. It’s another important reason I use Mentoring For Free.

One of the best features about Mentoring for Free, is the community Michael Dlouhy has created. I consider it my second family. Everyone is working together to share the truth and educate people. With over 10 live training calls each week, people stay close to the fire. Throw in what I consider the best personal development program in the 30 Day Mental Cleanse (more on that in a future post), and you have a place where people feel safe. It’s a place where they can learn and grow without competition.

Competition is a major concern in Network Marketing. Especially competition among your team members. You see, if I’m not making any money off of you being part of MFF, and we all learn to do this without an agenda, then the competition stays to a minimum. That’s another secret that I’d like to share with you about Mentoring For Free. When you get it in your heart that what we’re trying to do is help people become educated in this industry, it’s not about money. Now if I made money off of you joining Mentoring For Free, then how much do you think I’m going to help You do your best with the system? Every person You get to join the Mentoring For Free System is potential money out of my pocket, so if I learn some new trick to get an extra eBook download, am I going to show you? Not likely. I want to keep that advantage to myself.

Now, if I’m just out for myself, and don’t have YOUR best interest at heart, what does that tell you? Are you going to want to build a relationship with me? Doubtful. But let’s turn the scenario around. If my goal is to help you be as successful as possible and show you every trick I’ve learned to give you every advantage in getting downloads so you can build relationships with people, how strong do you think the trust between us is going to be? It goes beyond money at that point also. That’s where friendships are built.

Remember the saying that people join those who they know, like and trust? I think you get my point here.

So let’s get back to community. All the research that I’ve done on the most successful Network Marketing Leaders turned up one common thing. They all built that community. Once people joined the community, they finally felt part of something and they stayed around longer. And we all know that the longer people stay around, the more their chance of success goes up. It takes time to make decent money in this industry, and most people quit before they see results.

Keeping people plugged into the community gives them a better chance of staying around long enough to see the results. So your retention goes up. The Mentoring For Free Community is perfect for that! It gives people a safe place to come together. They learn, grow and bond. Some people have said that the Mentoring For Free Community is “Better” than their family. At least here everyone is on the same page. How wonderful is that?

In tomorrow’s post, I’ll answer the question of why it might not be a good idea to make affiliate money off getting people to join your marketing system. Knowing this one point could potentially save you millions of dollars! So come back tomorrow, you need this information!

Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 2) Retention

Category : Mentoring For Free, Retention

Yesterday I gave you a little insight into one of the reasons I use Mentoring For Free. If you haven’t read yesterday’s article, I suggest you read it first so you’ll have a better grasp of today’s article. You can read yesterday’s here: Why Mentoring For Free? (Part 1).

Today, I would like to talk about Retention and how Mentoring For Free can help keep your team together. It’s another key reason I use Mentoring For Free.

What’s the point of bringing on a partner in your business if they aren’t going to stay? The industry standard for retention is only about 6%. Can you believe it? 6%!!! That’s scary!! That’s not even 1 out of 10 people!! Really? Yep!

So I started researching this. Why don’t people stay? What makes them quit? Now there are lots of theories out there, but here’s mine. People quit for three simple reasons:

  1. They aren’t making any money, or what money they are making is not worth their time.
  2. There is no Community. People have an inherent need to belong to something. We gravitate to groups. We create “Cliques.” A lot of people go to Church not to learn about God, but to congregate. So if there is no “Community” that people can be part of, they’ll slowly wander off looking for something else.
  3. People just plain quit things. They get excited about something and that excitement soon fades away and they quit, or they realize that this industry is not as easy as they thought, and it actually requires work. Money isn’t just going to arrive in the mailbox like they said at the opportunity meeting, so they quit.

The third reason is one that I recommend you don’t try to figure out. It’s just the way it is, but the first two reason are something you can control. And I’ve found that you can control them with the Mentoring For Free System.

Let’s tackle the first one. Making money. In Network Marketing, there are 2 basic ways you make money. Retailing product yourself, or having a team of people buying and retailing product also. Let’s focus on the later, because that’s where your residual income is going to come from, and that’s what we’re all striving for.

So in order to have a team of people working with you, you need to find those people who will join you. There are many ways to make this happen:

  • You can make a list of your friends and family and call them all and pitch them your opportunity and if they don’t think you’ve joined a cult, they’ll join you.
  • You can invite anyone you bump your shopping cart into at the store to an opportunity meeting and hope they show up. If they do show up, you then doubly hope they join you.
  • You can take an ad out in newspaper or magazine and pray it’s better than all the other ads out there. Then, hopefully your pitch over the phone is better than the 100 pitches they’ve heard before yours. BTW, this is costly.
  • You can make a Facebook page and throw up your opportunity all over your wall and your friend’s wall hoping someone will think your opportunity is better than all the other people who throw up on their wall too.

Tip: None of the above are very duplicatable! Even if you’re having success doing them, 99% of your team won’t.

Instead of all that, you can do what I do and offer value to people who are looking for answers as to why they’re failing in this industry. You can show them why the cards are stacked against them and why their lack of success in not their fault. Use the Mentoring For Free System to give them accurate, truthful information. You can show them a proven duplicatable system that anyone can use to build their business. And here’s a secret most people don’t know; The people that download the Success in 10 Steps eBook are Leaders. They’re hungry and out there looking for answers to make it work in this industry. Isn’t that what we’re looking for, Leaders? We’re looking for people who are not quitters, and who are not willing to give up when the going gets tough. If you can show them how to build it right, how to attract others, how to build those golden relationships, then they will stay. And your retention goes up. So instead of a measly 6% retention, how about 60%, 70% or even 80% retention rate? That’s what I am currently seeing in my team.

Now let’s think about this. Let’s say you want to make $1000 extra a month, so you join a company where you make $10 for every person on your team that orders product every month. Those are pretty good numbers industry wise, because that means you would need 100 people on your team to make that $1000. (100 x $10 = $1000). But here’s where it gets tricky. Let’s throw in the industry standard retention rate of 6%. In other words, if only 6 of those 100 people stay, you have to replace 94 out of every 100 you bring in. So technically speaking, in order to find 100 people who stay consistently, at 6% you would need to find 1667 people (1667 x .06 = 100). Not an easy thing to do! Especially if you want to make a lot of money! Take your goal income to $5000 a month and you’re talking having to find over 8300 people just to keep 500 of them!!

And we wonder why people quit!! Considering that 90% of your organization are part timers, building a team of over 8300 people is not part time work. Not to mention the wind taken out of their sails when 7800 of their team quits on them. Hell, I would quit too!

But there’s hope…. Let’s up the retention rate to say 70% by giving them a system that everyone on their team can use. The numbers are vastly different. We’re talking the same amount you want to earn, $1000 a month. 100 people who stay are needed. At a 70% retention rate, you would only have to replace 30 people per 100. So you’re talking about finding 144 people total. (144 x .7 = 100) And if you wanted to make $5000 a month, you’d only need to find 720 total people. Much easier to do for both a full time and part time business.

Give people an easier way to do something, and they’re more than likely to do it. Seems like a no-brainer to me!

In tomorrow’s post, I’ll continue answering the question of why I do Mentoring For Free. Another big part of that is Community, why it’s important, and how Mentoring For Free helps bring people together.

In the meantime, let me show you even more about what this system has to offer. Personally I’m using it to build one of the fastest growing teams in my Network Marketing Company.
