Celebrate Being Independent From Fear!

Category : Facing Fear

In honor of Independence Day, I would like to share with you an article from The Daily Love by Mastin Kipp. I hope you really get this!

You can read about Mastin, The Daily Love, and why it exists here: About The Daily Love.

Today I wanted to pay forward some of Mastin’s Brilliance. If you haven’t subscribed to The Daily Love yet, you should. It’s really good.

Onward….

As Einstein said, there are two ways to look at the world: as though everything is a miracle or as if nothing is a miracle. He deduced that we can’t pick and choose if one thing is a miracle and something else isn’t based on the limits of human reason, we have these choices.

Another way to put this is that we have two perceptions through which to look out at the world with: Love or fear. There are the basic two lenses that we can see the world with. And it is impossible to look with the eyes of Love and think a fearful thought and it is impossible to look with the eyes of fear and think a Loving thought.

Love = A miracle. Fear = no miracle.

So, today, July 4th in America is about celebrating our independence. We liberated ourselves from an oppressive force that didn’t want us to be free. We took our power back and created a free country where we have a basic human right to pursue our own happiness.

My Dreams are Not Yours to Take!

Category : Breakthrough

You’re always telling me that my dreams will never come true.

You’re always telling me That my decisions are stupid and a waste of time.

You’re always putting down my successes as temporary or meaningless.

You’re always trying to scare me out of doing important things.

You’re always trying to convince me my goals are too hard and unachievable.

You’re always giving me hundreds of reasons why I will fail.

You’re always trying to convince me that success is for other people. That I’m not worthy.

You’re always trying to distract me from doing things I need to do by enticing me to do other fun stuff.

You’re always trying to make me put things off until they are too late.

You’re always putting me down.

You’re always telling me to stay on the safe path and not take chances.

You know what?

I’m through with you! I’m not listening to you any longer!

This is MY life, not yours! I make the decisions, not you!

You don’t control my life!!

My dreams will come true!
My decisions aren’t stupid!
My successes are lasting and forever!
I will do the important things in spite of you!
My goals are achievable and I will attain them!
I WILL NOT fail. I refuse to!
I am worthy of success! I was born with the right!
I will not be distracted by meaningless things!
I will not procrastinate any longer!
I will not let you put me down. I deserve better!
I will not stay on the safe path. I want to grow, and unless I try new things, I will always stay the same!

From this day forward I control my thoughts, my actions and my future!

From this day forward I will be who I was meant to be.

So get out of my way and leave me alone! You will no longer hold me hostage!!!

This is a letter I wrote to myself, more specifically to my fear. Since that day, amazing things have happened and I’ve grown and succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.

Don’t let your fears control you. You deserve everything this life has to offer. Just think about what you would do if you weren’t afraid. You’ll amaze yourself!

Betty White Is Stopping You From Being Successful! Huh?

Category : Success

Hey there peeps! I’ve been thinking a lot this past week about what it is that is holding me back from success. I get to a point on that path to success, and end up doing something, or getting into a mood that sabotages whatever it is that I have and drop back down to where I guess I subconsciously think I should be.

So I decided that I would take a different approach to my problem and actually try to find the root cause of it. (DUH!) I started reading a great series of books by Randy Gage. He has what he calls “The Prosperity Series”, which examine prosperity and why a person deserves it. The second book in the series is called “Accept Your Abundance.” In this book Mr. Gage talks about why people feel they don’t deserve prosperity. While reading it, I had an “Ah Ha” moment. I realized what was holding me back….

All of my life, I’ve been in one situation or another, usually, not prosperous situations either, I might add. But every single one of them I figured out how to get out of it. A while back a friend of mine told me that he didn’t know how I did it, but I always managed to get out of a jam, even when it looked like there was no “out.” It was a talent. I felt proud that I could do that. I believe myself to be a pretty smart guy. But even though I’m smart, I’m not very bright obviously. Because I keep putting myself in situations that I have “get out of.”

If I would just focus my energy “getting into” success, I would be much happier.

But here’s the kicker. Everybody says that to succeed in life, you need to get out of your comfort zone. But what I really think they should be saying is you need to get out of your “knowing zone.” You see, we do the things we know, and we keep doing them over and over because we know how to do them. For example when I put myself in a situation that sucks and I find a solution to that situation, I feel good about myself.

I CONQUERED THE BEAST!

Even though I created the beast, I fed the beast, I let the beast loose. I conquered him, so I feel awesome! What kind of crap is that? Pretty screwed up huh? But it’s reality. Lots and lots of people do the exact same thing.

Why?

Because it is what we know how to do. We don’t know how exactly to be successful. At least for those who never have been successful. The beast of Success is totally new to us. We don’t know what it looks like. We don’t know the rules to the game. We’re afraid of it. It’s not a matter of just “manning up” and facing it. That’s like saying, “Face your fear and get in the ring with Mike Tyson and hit him and hope you knock him out!” Uh, I’ll pass thank you. You see, right there is what 99% of sane people think. Even though, if by some miracle, you are able to avoid getting hit long enough to actually hit him with enough force to knock him out, you would become a hero and have fame and success beyond your wildest dreams!” Not worth it, if you ask me.

But… What if you trained? What if you worked out, built up strength, stamina, and really prepared yourself for the match? You would still be afraid, no doubt, but your odds would go up.

Still not buying it? Ok, how’s this, instead of Mike Tyson, you would have to fight say, Betty White. Do you think you could open a can of whoop-ass on Betty White? Sure you could. But then again, she’s pretty feisty; she just might get a few hits in before licking canvas.

So what’s my point? It’s that odds are, for you to be successful you don’t have to fight anything near Mike Tyson. More than likely the beast is Betty White. But you won’t know that until you prepare. Train. Learn how it’s done. Take baby steps.

But most of all, you need to figure out what it is that you really want. I mean be specific. People say they want a Million Dollars a year, but have no idea what that would even be like. What would it take? How would you live? That’s another thing that Randy Gage discusses in his book. Most people don’t even know what it would be like to have a Million Dollars, they’ve never had it. They know they want it, but really don’t know what it would take to get it. They can’t actually see themselves with it.

So that’s the point I’m making. You have to see yourself living your life how you want it to be. What would you do? What would you have? Where would you go? What would your life be like if you had a Million Dollars?

You see, answer those questions, and you’ll now know your success beast. Now you’ll know what it looks like, and at least part of what you’ll have to do to get it.

I hope this helps you, because I know how much it sucks taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. The frustration of the success-failure yo-yo.

Sit down and design you life. Create the life you want, not the one you have settled for. Know where you’re going. Prepare for the journey. Study Prosperity. Decide you’re worthy of it. And go for it. Beat the crap out of Betty White!!

The Importance of Finding Your “Why”

Category : WHY

For the past few months I’ve been very depressed. So much so, that for a bit I even considered that my time here on earth might be up and that I needed to leave. Not good to say the least.

You see, I let the negative thoughts back in. I stupidly opened that familiar door to fear.

All of those fears that I thought I had conquered and put behind me, were gripping me tightly again. I thought I failed… Failed my Mentors, failed my Family, but mostly failed Myself. It’s been horrible!

I decided that this week I was going to figure out what it was exactly that was causing this “breakdown” and today I finally figured it out.

I forgot my “Why”. I got so caught up in “being successful” I forgot why I was doing all this in the first place.

So today I reread my “Why”. And yes, I cried. Because my “Why” is very powerful to me.

Finding it, changed my life. Losing sight of it, changed it back.

I will never let that happen again!

I’d like to share my “Why” with you. It took me a long time to come up with it, and a lot of digging into places I didn’t want to go. But now I realize how beneficial it is.

What’s my why?

Well, simply put, I haven’t been alive! Even as a young kid I believed I was destined for great things. I knew it in my soul. I knew I was special. What the hell happened? How did I get from there to here? This is not the life I was destined to live! I feel like I’m dying. I feel like I’m just counting the days until it’s over. I’m not experiencing all the joy and wonder that I know is out there. I’m not being the leader I was born to be.

My older kids are just starting their adult lives and they are struggling. I see the negative thought patterns and the mundane life taking hold of them. I see the contentment with a life of lack creeping in. It’s killing me. Are they destined to live the life of poverty that I’ve lived? I want to scream at them to wake up! But how can I do that? How can I expect them to change behaviors I myself have yet to change? People follow leaders who truly lead, not just talk. True leaders lead by example. I haven’t given them any positive examples to follow. This needs to change! This will change!

I, we, they will see the success I’m having. I will restore the thoughts of possibilities in all our lives. The possibility that we can do great things. That we can accomplish our goals. That our dreams are not just something to wish for! That’s the true meaning of success. All the money and all the things are just a by-product of success. True success is knowing that you’re living. Knowing that your short time here on earth was not just waiting to die. Life is meant to be experienced, soaked up, shared.

If I can just do that, I’ll know for the first time in my life that I’m not just a waste of space.

That’s my why!

So my message to you my friend, is to find your “Why”. Because when the going gets tough, and it will, your “Why” can bring you back to a place of empowerment. It will give you the reasons why you must go on. Why you must succeed. It restores hope. Without it, you can’t own your life. And that’s what we all need to strive for. Otherwise, our time here on earth is just a waste. And I know you don’t want that.

If you’d like help working on your own “Why” or just want to share yours with me, just give me a call or shoot me an email. My door is always open.
