Because I’m a student of Network Marketing, I’ve enjoyed learning about a lot of different companies and their ways of explaining how best to build a business. Some companies will use the “Get 5″ method which teaches that your goal is to find 5 people who want to build a business and teach them to get 5 and to teach their 5 to get 5 and so forth. It’s a great way to build, but a little daunting.

I’ve also seen where certain companies teach the same thing, but with the number 10. Wow! You sure can build your business fast getting 10 people and teaching them to get 10 and so on and so on. But if you thought getting 5 was hard, try getting 10.

The simplest method I’ve seen to date is the “Power of One” At first it doesn’t seem to be a very powerful system, but when you take a closer look, you can see the brilliance in this method.

So here is the concept of the Power of One. Your only goal is to sponsor 1 person into your business every month, and in turn, teach that person to sponsor only 1 person each month. Like I said, it doesn’t seem very powerful, so let me show you the numbers.

Month 1 – You sponsor 1 person. Total People in your business: 2
Month 2 – Everyone sponsors 1. Total People in your business: 4
Month 3 – Everyone sponsors 1. Total People: 8
Month 4 – Everyone sponsors 1. Total People: 16
Month 5 – Everyone sponsors 1. Total: 32
Month 6 – Everyone sponsors 1. Total: 64

This is getting interesting now. The power of compounding is kicking in.

Month 7 – Total 128
Month 8 – Total 256
Month 9 – 512
Month 10 – 1024
Month 11 – 2048
Month 12 – 4096

Wow! In 1 year’s time, you would have 4096 people in your business!!! So even if you only make $1 per person per month, you’d have a very decent $4000 monthly income!!! And that’s just the residual. I’m not even talking about the sponsoring bonuses.

Another great thing about this method is that you can definitely learn as you go along. It’s not so daunting of a task because we’re only talking about finding 1 person a month. If you talk to 1 person a day for a month, your odds are pretty good that just 1 of those people will want to do what you do. Remember, our job as Professional Network Marketers is to sort for only those who want to do the business. Actually, I’m not a “It’s a number’s game” kinda guy, but even if I were, the numbers at that rate are totally on your side.

And here is yet another advantage to this method. It gives you time to work with the people in your organization to teach them how to do the same thing. And it gives them the confidence that it can be done. Because one of the biggest reasons people don’t join our business is because they can’t see themselves actually doing it. If you can show them how easy it is to sponsor just 1 person every 30 days, it makes it easier for people to believe.

On a side note, would you want to know how many people you’d have in your business after year 2, just by everyone sponsoring 1 person a month? You’re not going to believe it! How does 16,777,216 people in your business sound? I’m not kidding. Do the math yourself.
