This Just May Be the Best Commercial Ever!

I love it when you find something that says something to you. That gives you encouragement when you least expect it. We all try so hard, and we look at those that have paved the path before us and we think that they did it because they were special or lucky. But the truth of the matter is they did because they worked at it. They worked on the basics, the fundamentals. They worked every day consistently. They did the things that most of us are unwilling to do.

So when you find something that wakes you up and makes you think, “Am I doing everything that I can? Am I giving it my all?” it’s a great day! We need those reminders, we need that motivation. Well, at least I do.

Take a look at this video and let me know what you think and how it makes you feel. I’m curious.

Kids – Teachings From Jim Rohn

Category : Motivational

Kids

How many languages can a child learn? As many as you will take the time to teach them.

Even kids can get started on becoming financially independent. Kids can make profits long before they can legitimately earn wages.

Kids ought to have two bicycles: one to ride and one to rent.

Kids don’t lack capacity, only teachers.

I teach kids how to be rich by the time they are age 40, 35 if they are extra bright. Most kids think they are extra bright, so they go for 35.

What should a child do with a dollar? Here’s one philosophy: It’s only a child and it’s only a dollar, so what difference does it make? Wow, what a philosophy! Where do you suppose everything starts for the future? Here’s where it starts – it starts with a child and a dollar. You say, “Well, he’s only a child once. Let him spend it all.’ Well, when would you hope that would stop? When he’s fifty and broke like you?

If kids clearly see the promise, they will gladly pay the price.

A Little Motivation To Start Your Week

Category : Motivational

I needed a little motivation today, so I found this video of a great speech from the movie Rocky Balboa.

Excerpt:
“When Things got hard, you started looking for something to blame. Like a Big Shadow.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it…

You’ve gotta hit as hard as life. It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much can you take and keep moving forward? That’s how winning is done.

If you know what you’re worth, Go out and Get What Your Worth! But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that.”

Have a great Monday!

The Ant Philosophy – Teachings From Jim Rohn

Category : Motivational, Persistance

The Ant Philosophy

Over the years, Jim Rohn taught kids about a simple but powerful concept: The Ant Philosophy. Quoting Jim “I think everybody should study ants. They have an amazing four-part philosophy.

Here is the first part: Ants never quit. That’s a good philosophy. If they’re headed somewhere and you try to stop them, they’ll look for another way. They’ll climb over. They’ll climb under. They’ll climb around. They keep looking for another way. What a neat philosophy—to never quit looking for a way to get where you’re supposed to go.

Second, ants think winter all summer. That’s an important perspective. You can’t be so naive as to think summer will last forever. So ants gather their winter food in the middle of summer.

An ancient story says, “Don’t build your house on the sand in the summer.” Why do we need that advice? Because it is important to think ahead. In the summer, you’ve got to think storm. You’ve got to think rocks as you enjoy the sand and sun.

The third part of the Ant Philosophy is that ants think summer all winter. That is so important. During the winter, ants remind themselves, “This won’t last long; we’ll soon be out of here.” And the first warm day, the ants are out. If it turns cold again, they’ll dive back down, but then they come out the first warm day. They can’t wait to get out.

And here’s the last part of the ant philosophy. How much will an ant gather during the summer to prepare for the winter? All he possibly can. What an incredible philosophy, the “all-you-possibly-can” philosophy.

The ant philosophy. Never give up, look ahead, stay positive and do all you can.

Wealth, Success or Love?

Category : Motivational

I heard this great story and wanted to share with everyone.

A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard.

She did not recognize them. She said, “I don’t think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.”

“Is the man of the house home?” they asked. “No”, she said. “He’s out.”

“Then we cannot come in”, they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. “Go tell them I am home and invite them in,” he said.

The woman went out and invited the men in. “We do not go into a house together,” they replied.

“Why is that?” she wanted to know.

One of the old men explained: “His name is Wealth,” he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, “He is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home.”

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed.

“How nice!” he said. “Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!”

His wife disagreed. “My dear, why don’t we invite Success?” Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: “Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!”

“Let us heed our daughter-in-law’s advice,” said the husband to his wife. “Go out and invite Love to be our guest.”

The woman went out and asked the three old men, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.” Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up and followed him.

Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: “I only invited Love, why are you coming in?” The old men replied together: “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would’ve stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him.

Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!”

How true is that?

Desire & Motivation – Teachings From Jim Rohn

Category : Motivational

Desire & Motivation

Humans have the remarkable ability to get exactly what they must have. But there is a difference between a “must” and a “want.”

The best motivation is self-motivation. The guy says, “I wish someone would come by and turn me on.” What if they don’t show up? You’ve got to have a better plan for your life.

When you know what you want, and you want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it.

Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.

Without a sense of urgency, desire loses its value.

Becoming a Millionaire by Jim Rohn

Category : Book Review, Motivational

I’ve been reading an excellent book by Mike Litman and Jason Oman called Conversations with Millionaires.

One of the interviews Mike Litman did was with Jim Rohn. In that interview, Mike asked Jim to talk about the power in the being and the becoming. Here is what Jim Rohn replied:

What we acquire of course is valuable.

But, the greatest value is not what we acquire. The greatest value is what we become.

My mentor had an interesting way of teaching it.

When I was 25 years old he said, “I suggest, Mr. Rohn, that you set a goal to become a millionaire.”

I was all intrigued by that. You know, it’s got a nice ring to it – millionaire.

Then he said, “here’s why…” I thought to myself, ‘gosh, he doesn’t need to teach me why. Wouldn’t it be great to have a million dollars.’ Then he said, “no then you’ll never acquire it. Here’s why. Set a goal to become millionaire for what it makes of you to achieve it.”

He said, “Do it for the skills you have to learn and the person you have to become. Do it for what you’ll end up knowing about the marketplace, what you’ll learn about the management of time and working with people. Do it for the ability of discovering how to keep your ego in check. For what you have to learn about being benevolent. Being kind as well as being strong. What you have to learn about society and business and government and taxes and becoming an accomplished person to reach the status of millionaire. All that you have learned and all that you’ve become to reach the status of millionaire is what’s valuable. Not the million dollars. If you do it that way, then once you become a millionaire, you can give all the money away. Because it’s not the money that’s really important. What’s important is the person you have become.”

That was one of the best pieces of philosophy I have ever heard in my life.

Nobody ever shared it with me like that before.

Another thing he said was, “beware of what you become in pursuit of what you want. Don’t sell out. Don’t sell out your principles. Don’t compromise your values. Because you might acquire something by doing so, but it won’t taste good.”

An old prophet said, “sometimes what tastes good in the mouth finally turns bitter in the belly.”

Then, later we regret that we compromised or that we did something incredibly wrong to acquire something. It’s not worth it. If we do that, then what we get is worthless.

If you use something like that to challenge yourself to grow, to reach a certain level, I think it’s wise. Because then you know where the true value is and that is in the person you become.

Go back and read that again.

It’s not about the million dollars. It’s about what we become in the pursuit. What we have to become to get it.

Now go back and read it again. Read it as many times as necessary until you truly understand what Mr. Rohn is saying. Then begin your journey. Or get in touch with me and we can take that journey together. I’d love to have you along for the ride.
